Rebecca Mazza-Lihnakis / Law student
Rebecca Mazza-Lihnakis is currently a candidate for admission to the legal profession and is completing her training at the Québec Bar School. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in December 2025, where she developed a strong interest in family law and youth law. During her university studies, she also completed a course in Aboriginal law, which sparked a particular interest in legal issues affecting Aboriginal peoples, especially matters relating to child and family services within Aboriginal communities.
Driven by a desire to use her knowledge in service of the community, she participated in UQAM’s International Clinic for the Defense of Human Rights (CIDDHU), where she contributed to projects focused on the promotion and protection of human rights. This experience allowed her to develop legal research and writing skills while strengthening her interest in social justice, fundamental human rights, and access to justice.
She has worked as a law student at the firm since June 2026, when she began the experiential learning component of the Québec Bar School program. She actively contributes to files at the Bar’s Legal Clinic while developing her practical skills in various areas of law.
In the fall of 2026, she will begin a Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the Université de Montréal to further her legal education and broaden her expertise. Her academic and professional journey is characterized by intellectual curiosity, a commitment to access to justice, and a particular interest in areas of law affecting individuals, families, and communities.
